What is the difference between Acupuncture and Dry Needling?
Acupuncture is the original name for the therapeutic treatment utilizing solid point needles. This type of therapy originated in ancient China. Dry Needling is the modern term for a specific acupuncture technique, also known as Trigger point acupuncture. This specific type of needle therapy is when solid point needles are inserted in to trigger points on the body. A trigger point is a restricted area of tissue in the body. These can be found in fascia, muscle and connective tissues.

What does a course of treatment look like?
For starters, it is best to schedule 1-2 times per week for 6 visits. At the 6th visit a re-evaluation will be done to determine what future recommendations.

How quickly will I feel results?
Some conditions patients will feel change following just one visit. That to be said, I expect you to have change that you can link to treatment following visit 3.

Do you accept my insurance?
I am working diligently to get in-network with all major insurance companies but this is a slow process. Currently, my practice is self-pay only. If you are wanting to submit to insurance, feel free to see me at Allina Health Woodbury Clinic.
If you would like a Super Bill to submit to get reimbursed by your insurance company, please request one at your visit.

How long does an appointment last?
Initial visits are approximately 90 minutes. Follow up visits are as short as 20 minutes or as long as 60 minutes. This is dependent on if there is rest time included in your treatment. If you need to be out at a specific time, please let Darcy know at the start of your visit.

What is your cancellation policy?
I appreciate if you can let me know as soon as you know. I completely understand that life happens, as long as it doesn’t become a trend I am completely willing to be flexible with you.
